Lisette Clavell, President

As president of Mind Works, Lisette Clavell is responsible for all business aspects including growth and performance. She oversees the development of all instructional programs and curriculum offered at the center.
Her career in education spans over 24 years of working for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Lisette received both her bachelors and masters degrees in Elementary Education at Florida International University. Additionally, she is certified in Gifted Education grades K-12 and Social Sciences grades 5-9. As an educator, she has had the opportunity to teach students in every grade level in elementary, middle, high school, and post secondary where she instructed teachers seeking certification in Gifted Education.
Lisette has extensive experience in writing curriculum and in developing new and innovative programs for students. She has opened 3 elementary full time gifted centers (Ludlum Elementary, Kenwood Elementary, and Banyan Elementary), an advanced placement and gifted social studies program for middle school (Kenwood K-8 Center), and a high school Hospitality and Tourism magnet program (Ferguson Senior High School). She has been involved in all aspects of developing an educational program such as writing curriculum, communicating with parents/teachers/students, recruiting students, scheduling, book selections, etc. Lisette has worked as department chairperson, grade level chairperson and as an Academy lead teacher for a magnet program. Additionally, Lisette has served on several Advisory Boards including Johnson and Wales University and Miami-Dade County Public Schools.

Lillian Citarella Polit's responsibilities at Mind Works include collection of all payments, managing expenses, accounts payables and receivables, maintaining all financial records, banking and payroll duties.
Mrs. Citarella Polit graduated from Florida International University with a dual degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education. She later pursued a Master of Arts in Reading Education qualifying her to teach students K-12. Additionally she became certified in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Lillian has also done post graduate work in Gifted and Social Science education.
Her background in education is comprised mainly of district-wide experience. Lillian taught elementary school for four years before she applied for and accepted a position as District Social Studies Supervisor for Miami-Dade County Public Schools. For eleven years as an Instructional Supervisor, Lillian worked with state administrators, teachers, region personnel and community agencies to provide program support in the areas of social sciences and language arts/reading for regional schools K-12. In this position, she was also responsible for developing and implementing curriculum, including work as related to FCAT and various other state mandates. Lillian also coordinated district-wide events including conferences, competitions and special events for the Division of Social Sciences. She is a recipient of FIU's Distinguished Educational Leadership Award.


Tania Revilla Barrientos, EVP, Operations

Tania Revilla Barrientos is the Vice President of Operations at Mind Works Learning Center. She is directly responsible for the daily operations and performance at the center. This includes scheduling students, the implementation of all instructional programs, and marketing.
Tania attended Florida International University where she earned her bachelor's degrees in Elementary Education (grades 1-6) and her master's degree in Educational Leadership (grades K-12). She has 15 years of school site experience in education with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. Tania Revilla Barrientos began her career teaching at the elementary grades (Sunset Elementary, Earlington Heights Elementary) and later became an Assistant Principal (Kenwood K-8 Center, Coral Terrace Elementary, Sunset Park Elementary). Additionally, she completed the Executive Training Program for principal. In the capacity of school site administration she received extensive training and work site experience in school budget/finance, community partnerships, personnel management, security, daily school site operations, curriculum, discipline, testing, scheduling, tutoring, selecting and purchasing educational textbooks and materials, working with students, parents, teachers, and the community.
